I’m sorry but if I were Kobori , I would just say the hell with this! Why keep trying to help those two drunkards when first of all, they tried to kill him.. and then now they are ungrateful and think he wants revenge on them?? I’m just getting pretty annoyed on how Kobori is so nice, but they Ung’s pride get so in the way!

Okay so the doctor is gone, he went to help wounded soldiers from the bombs. Kobori came to give the drunk a shot. It was successful, but then the drunk got paranoid that Kobori poisoned him. Even Ung was paranoid too.

She runs after him to verify if it was really medicine and not poison. Kobori promised her that it’s really medicine but then he expresses to Ung that since the doctor will be busy lately and not able to come give him usual shots, he needs a blood test to make sure that there isn’t any other infections.

Ung tells Kobori that she knows for a fact he won;t go with him to the base to get his blood drawn.. so Kobori decided to go back and draw his blood but lied that it was another shot.

But when the other drunk saw that it was a blood draw and not a shot, he freaks out thinking that Kobori is trying to hurt his friend. so they attack Kobori and tried to hit him on the head with a big stick.

Ung tried to help but she got pushed down and hit her head. Luckily Kobori was able to subdue both men and knock them both out.

Once they were knocked out, he goes to check on her. He touches her face, and that’s when their eyes met again.

“I’m Okay..” she tells him.

Then poor Konori was hurting, so Ung ordered him to let her look at his wound . He has a bruise on his back.

“Make sure you put medicine on that tonight or you will ache..” she tells him.

“and make sure you put medicine on your head too…” he teases.

kobori ties the two friends together. when they woke up, he forced them to go to the base so that the one drunk gets surgery to take needle out of his arm.

the noodle got stuck in his arm when he jerked away while Kobori was trying to take his blood for testing. And so they go to the base… the drunkards holler and fought and fuss thinking that the Japanese was going to cut off his arm.

They fuss and made such a big commotion, then the commander arrives, Kobori’s uncle. The bad Japanese soldier was trying to scare Ung and the other drunkard. Ung was braved and stood up to him and told him that they’ve got no choice but to use Japanese facility cause the Thai ones are so scarce.

So Kobori comes out of the room and explain to his uncle why he has been treating Thai people. I guess the uncle allowed it cause they were able to take the needle out of the man’s arm and even allowed him to stay at the medical post!

Kobori walks Ung out.. she was grateful and asked him if if he’s used to seeing gruesome things like this.

So that’s when Kobori expresses to Ung that unfortunately he sees a lot of blood. He witnessed a doctor cutting offf a soldiers leg without anesthetic to save his life.

Ung was shocked , but Kobori explained that it was a must to save his life. Then Kobori explains that these are the casualties of war.. although he hates it, he has to deal with it.

He was about to tell Ung another story, but she was disgusted and told him to stop.

“no matter how much you hate war.. there’s nothing you can do.. nothing you can change, but accept it… war makes people change. some hate it and afraid and some use this war and find meaning in their lives. Even though the outcome is bad, at least you have your dignity.. I know you must hate me, cause you see me as an intruder…  and if we lost you would be happy… and this, is what I deserve..  yes, I had to punish those two, but in the end, we are all humans.. i’m a human and they are humans.. ”

Ung seems to understand him. Her face softened as she looked at him..  before parting ways, Ung calls out to him.

“next time you’re available.. you’re welcomed here… ” she utters.

and then he reminds her to put medicine on her forehead.

so later that night, both ung and kobori kept thinking of each other..

Ung finds herself looking out the window and to where Konori’s post is. She thought of him as he thinks of her. He looks at his back and smiles remembering Ung looking at his back for him.

So the next morning when he wakes up, that drunkard goes snooping around the post trying to find trouble and information. The drunk guy listens to a japanese radio. all he hears is that the Thais refuses to help the Japanese build a train track cause the thai got mad that the Japanese.

so the man goes snooping more and goes to eavesdrop on a military meeting. he couldn’t understand a thing they say, but he made up his own story. He got so much pride and plans on spreading hate and have the villagers hate the Japanese soldiers even more.

Meanwhile.. Kobori’s uncle asked Kobori if he could go to Burma to help out.

While Ung and her family were digging ditches, Bua, the other man comes running frantically and tell them that Japanese soldiers mistreated Thais for being nice to the English people. It turns out that this didn’t even happen in this village, it happened in another village.

So anyway.. Kobori agreed to go to Burma. Just then Konbori was informed that the Thai man, Pome the other drunk snuck away.

And just as he thought, Pome goes to the marketplace and starts to spread hate and drama.

Pome made up stories and told the villagers that the japanese soldiers are forcing thai men to go fight and that they are chasing all  chinese thai people out.

this caused the villagers to get pissed and refused to serve food to the japanese soldiers. chaos and fight breaks out . The bad japanese soldier comes and stops it by shooting at people. Ung arrives and sees the commotion and tried to save her thai people.

things get worst when the bad japanese guy threaten to shoot her and then ends up shooting the chinese thai man.

the bad soldier did this to scare the villagers and keep order. It turns out that the chinese thai man isn’t dead yet.

Kobori arrives to see what’s going on, but the villagers got enough and decided to retaliate against kobori and his men. Kobori and his men doesn’t fight back while the villagers threw things at him.

Ung sees this and tried to save Kobbori. she begs them to stop but ends up getting in the path of the villagers fury. she falls in the boat with kobori as they tried to duck the debris that was being thrown.

but finally , the thai police came and stopped the chaos.

when it was over, Ung notice blood on kobori’s face. she touches his face and sees if he was okay.

the thai police kept things in order and goes with the Chinese man to the japanese post. the doctor was able to take out the bullets and saved his life, but the thai villagers was still upset and refused the japanese to keep their friend,

The thai police seized the two trouble makers , Pome and Bua. Now Pome and bua are pissed at kobori thinking that kobori turned them in.

Ung’s mom and grandma was saying how Pome and Bua are such trouble makers, causing the village to be so chaotic . But Ung expresses how even though they are trouble makers, the bad soldier shouldn’t have threatened to kill anyone like that.

Ung’s Mom said she was going to go visit Kobori and asked if ung wants to go too, but Ung was stubborn and says why should she??
